Dear Fowler Parents and Community Members,
I am extremely excited to have this opportunity to introduce myself to the Fowler Community. My name is Mrs. Evelyn Garcia. I have been assigned as the new principal at Fowler Elementary School for the 2011-2012 school year. My professional administrative experiences include six years as principal and five years as an assistant principal in school districts with similar ethnic and economic demographics.
As a principal, I have always worked to improve student achievement through the implementation of research-based academic programs, professional development, community and family engagement, strategic planning, and through the implementation of data driven instruction and intervention/extension programs.
I am a leader who will strive to build partnerships between our school and community. Research shows that parental engagement is a key factor in high academic achievement. Your support and commitment to the Fowler academic and behavioral initiatives is essential to the overall success of our students. Establishing a culture of excellence with high expectations and academic achievement starts with a school vision. Our school vision is “Teaching for Learning!” We engage parents in their child’s educational progress with a vision that involves parents in the development of school initiatives.
I am confident that through collaboration with parents, community members, district, and school staff, we will implement school programs that will challenge, engage, and maximize the learning opportunities we provide for all Fowler Elementary students.
I am sincerely thankful to the Fowler Governing Board; Superintendent Ms. Lobato; and to YOU, parents, and community members for this great opportunity. The best is yet to come!
Sincerely,
Evelyn Garcia
Principal
