Welcome to Second grade with Ms. Stedl

"All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and somebody who believes in them. " Magic Johnson

Hello, my name is Ms. Stedl and this is my first year teaching at Fowler Elementary. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin near Green Bay( Go PACK Go!) and moved to Phoenix July of 2018. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a degree in Early-Middle Childhood Education. When I have free time, I love to read, listen to Podcasts and One Direction, craft, and explore national parks!
Through the years I have had experience in Kindergarten, First, Second, and Fourth grade classrooms, but Second grade has always been my favorite! In second grade we get to work on becoming fluent readers who comprehend the text, problem solving mathematicians, and expressive writers.I believe in creating an anti-bias classroom where children of all backgrounds and cultures can feel part of the community. One aspect of an anti-bias curriculum is not including holidays in my teaching. Rather than celebrate holidays,we will celebrate things students of all backgrounds can participate in, such as Book Character Day, First Day of Winter, and Friendship day.

It is my mission to help students become the best possible version of themselves. If you have any questions, comments or concerns do not hesitate to contact me!
